One of the most common questions. The short answer: comparable to espresso, but details depend on how you measure.

Caffeine by the Cup

A standard 2oz demitasse: approximately 50-65mg. For comparison: espresso shot ~63mg, 8oz drip coffee 80-100mg, 12oz cold brew 150-200mg.

By volume, Turkish coffee is highly concentrated. But because serving size is small (2oz vs 8-12oz), total caffeine per serving is moderate.

Why the Range?

Several factors affect content: coffee-to-water ratio, brew time, the bean itself (Robusta has nearly twice the caffeine of Arabica), and water temperature.

Lezzet uses 100% Arabica — smooth, complex flavor with moderate caffeine. Robusta would give more caffeine but sacrifice flavor quality.

Can You Drink Multiple Cups?

In Turkish coffee culture, 2-3 small cups throughout the day is common. At 50-65mg each, three cups gives roughly 150-195mg — well within the 400mg daily limit recommended by the FDA.

The Bottom Line

Turkish coffee delivers a meaningful caffeine boost in a small, concentrated cup. Not the most caffeinated method, but one of the most flavorful ways to get your morning energy.
