FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Answers about Lezzet, brewing, shipping, and Turkish coffee tradition.

About the Coffee

What is Lezzet?
Lezzet is freshly roasted Turkish coffee made only with specialty grade Arabica and ground to the traditional powder-fine consistency.
What does specialty grade mean?
Specialty grade is the highest quality category of coffee beans, selected for cleanliness, balance, and flavor complexity. Compared with lower-cost Robusta or commodity blends, specialty grade Arabica is usually smoother, sweeter, less harsh, and more expressive in the cup.
Where is Lezzet roasted?
Right here in the USA. We roast in-house in intentionally small batches instead of importing pre-roasted coffee from overseas. That lets us keep inventory low and roast closer to demand, so the coffee stays fresher before it ships.
What roast level is Lezzet Turkish coffee?
Lezzet tends to tilt toward medium roast because Turkish coffee's powder-fine grind extracts strongly. That profile keeps the cup rich and smooth while reducing bitterness and acidity.
Do you stamp roast dates on the bags?
Yes. Every bag is stamped with its roast date so you can see exactly how fresh the coffee is.
What does Lezzet mean?
Lezzet is Turkish for flavor or taste. It reflects our mission to bring fresher, more flavorful Turkish coffee into everyday life.
What flavors does Lezzet offer?
Lezzet is rooted in traditional Turkish coffee and also offers warm blended flavors like cinnamon and cardamom, with hazelnut and cocoa coming in Sultan's Secret.

Brewing

Do I need special equipment?
Just a cezve, also called an ibrik. In a pinch, any small saucepan works.
Can I use Lezzet in a regular coffee maker?
No. Turkish coffee is ground to a powder - much finer than drip or espresso grind. It would clog a drip machine or French press. It is designed to be brewed in a cezve on the stovetop.
How much caffeine is in Turkish coffee?
About 50-65mg per 2oz cup. An espresso has about 63mg, and drip coffee has about 95mg per 8oz cup.
Can I make iced Turkish coffee?
Yes. Brew hot as usual, let it cool, then pour over a glass packed with ice.

Ordering & Shipping

Do you ship internationally?

Cup Reading

What is Turkish coffee cup reading?
Cup reading, called fal in Turkish, is a social tradition where people interpret the grounds left after Turkish coffee. It is best treated as culture, conversation, and playful symbolism.
How does Turkish coffee cup reading work?
After drinking, place the saucer on top, flip the cup over, and wait 5-10 minutes. The dried grounds can form shapes that are interpreted socially and playfully. Visit our Cup Reading Guide to learn more.
